Obituary

William Blum, Jr., age 87, longtime resident of Palmyra, NJ passed peacefully at his home on February 27, 2024.

Bill was born and raised in Philadelphia to the late Louisa and William Blum. He was a graduate of Frankford High School, class of 1955. Bill was an accomplished Carpenter and spent his career working for the U.S. Government where he worked at various military locations including the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, U.S. Coast Guard and McGuire Air Force Base until his retirement. He also applied his carpentry skills assisting with many home additions and building projects for friends and family and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time, creating many treasured pieces of furniture, jewelry boxes and picture frames.

Bill was a long standing member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, also a member of Harrowgate String Band, playing the accordion and performing in many New Year's Day parades. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, watching auto races and football. Bill was an avid dog lover, having many beloved dogs throughout his life, and was known for taking them on long walks or jogging with them, then treating them to a car ride to L&M Bakery where he would get coffee, but his dog would get a fresh donut!

Family was most important to Bill. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson were his pride and joy, his sons-in-law were like his own sons to him, and he enjoyed being a big part of their lives.

William was predeceased by his parents, Louisa (nee' Seemuller) and William Blum, his brother, Marvin Blum and by his beloved son, William "Billy" T. Blum. Bill is survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Eileen Blum (nee' Leonard), his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Davis and her husband Jim, and Lisa Mufalli and her husband Shawn. Also surviving are his dear grandchildren, Eric Davis (Jacquelyn), Joel Mufalli (Amira) and Dustin Mufalli (Alexis), and his great-grandson, Easton Davis. He is also survived by his niece, nephews and his many friends.

Funeral services and burial will be held privately. A gathering to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date. To honor his deep love for dogs, contributions in his memory to the Burlington County Animal Shelter, 35 Academy Dr., Westampton, NJ 08060 would be preferred.
