William Nelson Trout, Sr., age 83, of Edgewater Park, NJ passed peacefully at home on April 17, 2026.
Born on July 3, 1942, to Henry B. Trout and Doris Eckert Trout, Bill grew up in Mt. Holly, NJ with his six siblings. He went to work full-time as a teenager for Hoeganaes Corporation, Cinnaminson, NJ and retired after 43-years as a furnace operator.
Bill married Judith Edna Nixon, who was born and raised in Delanco, NJ, and were married for nearly 65-years. Together they had five sons whom they raised in their longtime home in Mt. Laurel (Masonville). Bill and Judy also lived in Palmyra and most recently in Edgewater Park.
Bill was an avid golfer and horseshoes thrower throughout his life. He coached many years for kids and teenagers, both boys and girls, for baseball, softball, and football throughout the years. Bill was everyone's favorite coach! He was active with the Fleetwood Athletics Association, having served as President, and helped with the founding of Pop Warner Football for Mt. Laurel.
William was predeceased by his parents, Henry B. Trout and Doris Eckert Trout, and by his siblings, Henry, Joseph, Samuel, Joyce, Jeffrey and Linda, as well as by his sister-in-law Edna Pareda.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Edna Trout (nee' Nixon), and their loving children, William Nelson Trout, Jr. and wife Kathy, Robert David Trout and wife Cynthia, Ronald Warren Trout and wife Kellie, Shawn David Trout and wife Leslie, and Michael John Trout and wife Judi, and by 13 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren. William is also survived by his in-laws, Susan Trout, Harold Nixon (Mary), Madelyn Moyer, Jacqueline Nixon, Dale Nixon (Elaine) and Glenn Nixon, along with his dear cousin, Barbara Cotton, dear friend Ethel Wonke, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Family, friends and neighbors are invited to attend a Viewing for Bill on Wednesday evening, April 22, 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and again on Thursday morning, April 23, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, all at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street (River Rd.), Riverton, NJ 08077. Entombment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Vitas Hospice, 521 Fellowship Road, Suite 110, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054
